What is a physician advisor review?
A physician advisor review is an evaluation by an independent, specialty-matched physician who reviews medical records and treatment requests to determine whether care is medically necessary and appropriate. PeerLink provides physician advisor reviews for URAC-accredited utilization review organizations.
What are 2nd and 3rd level reviews?
In the 20+ states with workers' compensation URO frameworks, denial recommendations must be made by a specialty-matched, geographically appropriate provider. These are often called 2nd and 3rd level reviews. PeerLink selects, credentials, and maintains these physician reviewers so UROs don't have to.
Is PeerLink URAC-accredited?
Yes. PeerLink Medical is a URAC-accredited Independent Review Organization (IRO) and supports URAC-accredited UROs with audit-ready documentation.
